William Paul Troost-Ekong is Nigerian who plays a professional football. William is a centre-back Defender for English club Watford and the captain of Super Eagles, the Nigeria national team.

Ekong started his international career with the Netherlands under-19 and under-20 youth team before opting to represent Nigeria.
He made his debut for the Nigeria national team in 2015 against Chad during an Africa Nations Cup (AFCON) qualifying match.
He also represented Nigeria’s under-23 team at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, clinching the bronze medal in the competition.
Troost-Ekong made his debut World Cup appearance under Gernot Rohr after being named in the 23-man squad for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup competition.
At the 2019 AFCON, Ekong’s goal against South Africa sent the Super Eagles to the semi-finals and a third-place finish.
Club Career
William Troost-Ekong:
Ekong started his club football with FC Groningen and FC Dordrecht in the Netherlands before heading to England to join the youth teams of Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.
In 2015, he signed for KAA Gent in Belgium before being loaned to Norwegian club FK Haugesund.
Two years later, he joined the Turkish Süper Lig club Bursaspor.
After a year with the Turkish side, he joined the Italian Serie A club Udinese.
In 2020, William Troost-Ekong joined and signed a five-year contract deal with EFL Championship side Watford, where he currently plays.
