CKay, real name – Chukwuka Ekweani, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer signed to Warner Music South Africa and Atlantic Records.
He was born in Kaduna on 16 July 1995
He was formerly signed to Chocolate City, a member of Warner Music Group independent label services ADA.
His international hit single “Love Nwantiti”, also known as “Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ahh)”, was released in 2019 and debuted at number one following the launch of the Billboard Afrobeats chart.

Career

He released a promotional song titled “Bad Musician Bad Producer” on May 6, 2016. The instrumental was freely downloaded on all Nigerian blogs for use in covers, clubs, and radio airplay. On August 31, 2016, he formally became a member of the Chocolate City artist roster following the merger of Loopy Music in 2016.
On March 2018, he released “Container”, an Afrobeat record influenced by the South African gwara gwara dance style. The song became a breakthrough record in Nigeria and earned him substantial airplay. It was released through Chocolate City and was produced by Tempoe.
The project gave rise to the popular song “Love Nwantiti,” which broke numerous records in Nigeria. The remix “Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)” by CKay, featuring Joeboy and Kuami Eugene, was released on February 14, 2020. It gave him his first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100.
On 11 February 2021, he released his third ep Boyfriend through Warner Music South Africa.
He released “Watawi,” a song with Davido, Focalistic, and Abidoza, on June 17, 2022, which peaked at number 13 on Nigeria’s Turntable Top 50.
